Episode 38- Nick Jonsson: If we can talk to each other, miracles are possible
THE FROM SURVIVOR TO THRIVER PODCAST
Nick, Founder and Managing Director of Executives’ Global Network (EGN) Singapore, is dedicated to raising awareness and eliminating the stigma around the phenomenon of executive loneliness. He made this his life’s work following the suicide of a close friend.
Now in his third year of recovery, Nick has identified that feelings of isolation and depression—personal struggles that he himself has had to grapple with and conquer—are much more widespread than we may think. Through his journey, he has come to realize that many individuals face similar battles, often hidden behind facades of normalcy. These emotions, often dismissed as personal failures or weaknesses, can profoundly affect one’s well-being and sense of connection. Nick’s experiences have not only heightened his awareness of these issues but have also propelled him to advocate for open conversations around mental health.
By sharing his story, he hopes to foster a greater understanding of the struggles many face in silence and to encourage others to seek support in their darkest moments. He believes that vulnerability can be a powerful catalyst for connection, allowing individuals to recognize they are not alone in their pain. Through candid discussions of his experiences, he aims to break the stigma surrounding mental health challenges and inspire others to reach out for help. His message underscores the importance of community and empathy, reminding everyone that seeking support is not a sign of weakness but a courageous step toward healing.
